A strange smile appeared on her face, a smile I had never seen on her when she was awake.

I wasn’t the first victim… and I certainly wouldn’t be the last. All those conditions he forced me to accept were never a simple agreement, but a carefully laid trap to keep me prisoner.

My hands are trembling, but I force myself to keep watching the recording. I need to know the whole truth, down to the last detail. When the video ends, I have no more doubts: I must escape as soon as possible.

I hurriedly gather the essentials, pack my documents and phone, without even thinking about the supposed contract. Now I know that piece of paper is worthless. If I stay in that house, I’ll end up disappearing just like the girls in those recordings.

I wait silently until I see him leave. From the window, I watch as his car drives through the gate and disappears down the road. At that moment, an icy fear runs through my body, because I understand that I will only have one chance.

I leave the room with extreme caution, trying not to make the slightest noise. Each step seems endless. My heart is pounding so hard I’m afraid someone might hear it. Even so, I don’t stop. I open the front door and run desperately outside.
